WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE'RE ALL PERFECT?

It is not that people should show off their successes, but neither
should they hide them. Teaching by example has long been touted
as a way to convince others of the correctness of the way you live
and think.

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot
be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a
bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that
are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they
may see your good works. And glorify your Father which is in
heaven.”

It should be obvious from the above quote that Jesus did not think
that humanity was the scum of the earth. He did not believe we
were poor wretched creatures, full of sin, worthy of punishment,
and fit for nothing but hiding under a stone. There is no question
that this is a reference to our spiritual light, but it also deals with
every aspect of our life, including our material nature.

The Law of Attraction proclaims that all people are imbued with the
creative power of the Universe. Just as our children share many of
our traits, the children of the Universe have the same light as that
which created them. In a way, it is “in the genes.” By proclaiming
that all are the “light of the world,” Jesus was saying that it is wrong
to hide or suppress our true nature. By letting our light shine, we
are claiming our relationship to our divinity. By expressing what is
inherently ours, we are actually paying homage to that force that
permeates the entire universe. All parents want the best for their
children right? All parents, no matter how “divine,” want their
children to succeed, to find happiness, to be “healthy, wealthy and
wise.” What kind of parent wishes eternal suffering on his children?
Why would anyone think or even promote the notion that we, the
“children of God” are not meant to have health, prosperity, and
abundant love? Those that do foster these beliefs are usually ones
who have achieved a degree of success but fear that others will
take that from them. It is this belief in scarcity that fosters the
limited and constricting ideas of the world. It is as if they are saying
that there can be only so many healthy, wealthy and happy people
in the world and if you are not one of them, be content with what
you have and you will receive your reward in heaven. Does this not
sound like a conflict of interest? It is said in The Secret that not
everyone wants the same job, the same life partner or wants to live
exactly as someone else. There is enough to go around. If, as
science says, all things are made of energy, there is certainly an
abundance of energy in the Universe to go around. Let’s face it,
they can always print more money. Therefore, let the light that you
are find expression and finally end the illusion of darkness.
“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in
heaven is perfect.”

If humanity is fatally flawed, why would Jesus say that you can
achieve the perfection of the divine intelligence that created the
Universe? By saying that deity is the Father of all, it follows that we
are all equally the sons and daughters of God. There are no
exclusionary notions in this quote. No one is left out of the
equation. Jesus does not say try to be perfect, he says be perfect.
Somewhere along the way someone decided that it would be best
for people to think that they were essentially evil and that only by
maintaining adherence to certain creeds and dogma would they
find salvation. By doing this, people have used this perceived lack
of perfection as an excuse to explain all the evils of the world. It has
been used to justify and rationalize why some are in misery while
others flourish.

The Law of Attraction says that people are perfect in potential and
all that stands between the truth and the reality is a state of mind. Is
this not what Jesus is saying? There is no indication in his
admonition that anything should stand in the way of human
perfection. He did not say, “Try to be like me because I am the only
son of God and I am perfect and even though you are all sinners,
you just might improve your life.” The use of the word “BE” is a
command, not a request. Jesus chose his words carefully and was
not prone to exaggeration. I also believe that Jesus did not
contradict himself and that he meant exactly what he said. BE the
conscious creative force in your world and create your new reality
based in Light and perfection.
